Determining the best time of the month to get pregnant

Conceiving a child is the most wonderful gift that a couple could have. Although a lot of couples can conceive easily, there are also those who are experiencing difficulties at conceiving. And the numbers are quite high. There are many tips on how to get pregnant, and here are some more that can help answer your question on the best time of the month to get pregnant.

A woman can get pregnant easily when she is fertile. This is the best time of the month to get pregnant. But pinpointing the exact time when a woman is most fertile is quite difficult. Below are some helpful tips on how to determine the best time of the month to get pregnant.

There are three basic methods on determining the best time to get pregnant. First is counting the days of the menstrual cycle. Second is measuring the basal body temperature of a woman and lastly observing the changes in a woman’s cervical mucus.

A woman is fertile when she is ovulating. Normally the ovulation occurs during the mid cycle of the regular 28 day cycle, which means ovulation occurs on the 14th day. This applies only to women with the regular 28 day cycle. But a lot of women do not have the regular cycle, some has 25 or 31 days.  For those who do not have the regular cycle, a woman can still track and calculate her ovulation by using the post ovulation phase. This is fairly unvarying at roughly 14 days. So if a woman has a 25 day cycle, she would just have to subtract 14 days and she will know that she will be ovulating on day 11.

Another method on how to determine the best time of the month to get pregnant is by measuring the basal body temperature (BBT).  This is one of the most effective ways of determining if a woman is fertile. When measuring the BBT, one must use a digital thermometer that can log increasing changes of temperature gradually, up to 2 decimal places. Studies show that a rise of about 1.6 degrees celcius in the basal body temperature will be recorded after a woman ovulates. One must record the BBT consistently at the same time daily, usually before going out to bed in the morning. A pattern can be seen after months of charting the BBT. You can now determine the days when you will be ovulating and most fertile for conception.

Lastly, one must observe the changes of a woman’s cervical mucus. When the cervical mucus discharge is somewhat clear, stretchy and slimy, it indicates that a woman is very fertile and can conceive naturally. This would be the best time to have sexual intercourse. Following these three steps can get you a higher chance of getting pregnant.
