There are many conditions that are aggravated or brought upon by pregnancy. Although pregnancy seems to be blissful there are some discomforts that an expectant mother will experience. These conditions include constipation, varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids during pregnancy are commonly experienced by pregnant women usually when they reach the third trimester.

Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in the rectal area. These can be as small as a pea or as big as a grape. Hemorrhoids can be found protruding in the anus or inside the rectum. hemorrhoids can be uncomfortable, itchy and painful. It can also cause rectal bleeding when moving bowels. Hemorrhoids during pregnancy can be aggravated by constipation.

Women can get haemorrhoids during pregnancy

Women can get Hemorrhoids for the first time when they become pregnant. But for women who had them can most likely get hemorrhoids again. Hemorrhoids can develop during second stage of labor or in postpartum. But mostly women who experience Hemorrhoids during pregnancy will begin to heal after giving birth.

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy are common because of the growing uterus which puts increases the pressure on the inferior vena cava and pelvic veins. This slows the circulation of blood in the lower part of the body and causes the veins to be swollen or dilated. It is also aggravated by constipation. Straining hard bowel movement can cause hemorrhoids. The increase in progesterone hormones can also cause constipation which in turn causes hemorrhoids.

Preventing Hemorrhoids During Pregnancy

How can you prevent or ease hemorrhoids during pregnancy? For you to avoid having hemorrhoids, you need to avoid getting constipated. You have to eat a healthy high fibre diet such as plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, beans, whole grains and cereals. Drink plenty of water, about 8 to 10 glasses a day. You also have to exercise regularly. Exercises like walking, swimming and riding a stationary bike can help avoid constipation.

You can also ask your doctor for a stool softener of fibre supplement. Encourage regular bowel movement after eating. You can also practice Kegel exercises to strengthen the muscles surrounding the anus and increase blood circulation in the rectal area. You should also avoid standing or sitting for a long period. Walk around for a few minutes every hour. If you are lying down you can lie on your left side to avoid putting pressure on your rectal veins.

How can you ease hemorrhoids? You can relieve hemorrhoid discomforts by applying cold compress on the affected area. You can also soothe the inflamed area by putting witch hazel on it. You can soak your bottom in a tub or sitz bath with warm water for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Alternating warm and cold treatments can also be done to ease hemorrhoids. You should always clean the affected area with a clean, unscented and soft tissue or wipes. Consult your doctor for a topical anesthetic or suppository to relieve inflammation. If you experience rectal bleeding or severe pain it is best to consult a doctor.

What is a round ligament pain ?

Round ligament pain is a condition common during pregnancy. It is referred to a sharp, brief, stabbing pain or dull ache that lasts long usually felt in the groin area or lower abdomen. Round ligament pain is commonly experienced by pregnant women during the second trimester.

The pain is experienced usually when there is a sudden change of position like when you sit and stand up, get out of the bed or a tub, or if you suddenly cough. This type of pain is also experienced after a physical activity like walking around for a long period.

Round ligament pain and pregnancy

During pregnancy your uterus grows and the round ligament that surrounds your uterus and pelvis will have to thicken and stretch. The ligaments will have to support your uterus and pelvis. The thin ligaments will pull the nerve fibres. This can cause having to experience this dull pain on either or both sides of your abdomen intermittently. Ligament spasms or cramps cause a sharp pain. These are often experienced in the right side because the uterus normally tends to turn to the right.

The pain can be experienced from inside the groin upward on either or both sides of the top of the hips. Round ligament pain can be very uncomfortable but is normal. If you experience the pain to be more that a few seconds when you change position or get up you have to call your caregiver or even see a doctor. More so if the pain is severe and if you have more than 4 contractions that don’t hurt.

Also you have to check that if you experience this pain with bleeding or spotting or if you notice a change in your vaginal discharge as well as having fever, chills or wanting to vomit then you should see your doctor immediately. Do not wait for the moment that you cannot stand the pain anymore before you go to your doctor because it can be bad for the baby as well.

Round ligament pain relief

During pregnancy your uterus grows and the round ligament that surrounds your uterus and pelvis will have to thicken and stretch. The ligaments will have to support your uterus and pelvis. The thin ligaments will pull the nerve fibres. This can cause having to experience this dull pain on either or both sides of your abdomen intermittently. Ligament spasms or cramps cause a

You can get relief from this discomfort cause by the round ligament pain by sitting down first and try to relax your body when this pain starts. Having a good rest will ease the pain. Then you can stretch your legs to flex your knees or when you’re lying down make sure to place a pillow under your belly to support it and another pillow right between your legs too. Then you can take a warm bath that will surely help you relax.

Don’t be worried about falling while pregnant, read on!

Pregnant women have the natural tendency to fall down during their fourth month period. They lose their balance because they are so used to their own weight and balance when they were not yet pregnant and because of the change in weight and the pull of gravity, there is a big change on the way the carry their body and thus leading to falls when they are not careful.

Since their tummies become bigger, they won’t be able to see their own two feet anymore. And because of that, they don’t see where they are stepping and this causes them to fall down. More risks of falling down will happen if the floor they walk on are slippery or having uneven surfaces. It’s best to have a companion always when you walk around so that you can avoid risks of falling down.

Reasons of falling while pregnant

The reasons of falling while pregnant are all but normal and if you fear that you’ll be hurting the fetus, don’t be, you should not worry since the baby is covered in fluid inside the amniotic sac that protects the baby and serves as a shock absorber during falls. Of course we are talking about normal falls, not those serious ones that for example you fall off the stairs. That might injure not only the baby but also you.

But if you do experience falling while pregnant, you should go see your doctor just to make sure that you and your baby are both ok. Tell your doctor exactly what happened during your fall so that your doctor can tell you what to do and if the doctor says that you need to go to the clinic, he or she means that you will need to have your baby’s heartbeat checked and make sure that your baby has not been injured.

Falling while pregnant, do you need to see the doctor?

Also during the time that falling while pregnant happens, be aware immediately of spotting or hemorrhaging has taken place. This means that there is bleeding and you should immediately see your doctor so that you and your baby can undergo a checkup and see if everything is going ok with your pregnancy.

You can also check your baby through a method called “Fetal Kick Count”. This is when you monitor your baby’s movement inside your womb and see if it’s normal. Normally you should be able to count ten kicks from you baby within the span of 30 minutes. If this is less than ten counts then it’s time to see your doctor so he or she can monitor the baby’s heartbeat.

Conceiving can either be a simple or complex thing. Becoming pregnant means you have to increase the odds to your favor. One factor that that is sometimes taken for granted when it comes to getting pregnant quickly is a woman’s health condition. The truth of the matter is, your health plays a vital role in achieving that that you are awaiting for.

A woman who wants to be pregnant will be unable to achieve her goal when her body does not respond to getting pregnant. Illness such as endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, chronic ovarian cysts, fallopian tube blockages and many more will inhibit the reproductive organs to perform in their maximum potential, thus, her ability to get pregnant as well.

A woman’s lifestyle is a major factor with regards to her health.

This includes the diet she eats and the activities she does. This will all contribute to her overall wellbeing. The food we eat supply nutrition to our body. Essential nutrients greatly affect the body’s function and performance. When these nutrients is lacking, collapse of the body’s system could happen and the performance will be altered. This of course, includes the reproductive system. Certain nutrients are needed by the reproductive system in order to function well. Furthermore, nutrients also affect hormones. If the reproductive system’s function is not in full potential, the body’s hormones as well is affected, thus, the ability to get pregnant.

Exercise also affects a woman’s overall health.

This can very well determine how much time you are going to get pregnant. Exercise affects the time to get pregnant through your fat levels together with weight and stress levels. Fertility is altered by fat levels. If fat surrounds for example your ovary or your uterus, this will prevent your ovaries to release an egg as well as prevent your uterus to perform in its full potential. According to studies, women who have high fat levels and weight levels have a more difficult time conceiving than women who have adequate ones. In addition, exercise also relieves you from stress. Stress can alter your pregnancy by creating a poor performance with your reproductive system, which will lead to hormonal imbalances as well.

Habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs, as well as too much caffeine can inhibit you from getting pregnant as these substances affect a woman’s fertility as well as the body’s function.

If you are desperate to become pregnant, pay attention and have a healthy lifestyle. Underestimating your body’s overall health condition should never be the case as it is the real factor in getting pregnant. If your want to get pregnant, be motivated to achieve and maintain a healthy mind and body. This will not just give you pregnancy but will ensure you will have a healthy pregnancy as well.

There are many different tips and strategies that can help you gain new ideas and improve your knowledge on ways to get pregnant. This time, we are going to focus on one of them. Though it is not given that much attention, it can really increase your chances of getting pregnant.

Cervical fluid is a very important thing when you are planning to get pregnant. Throughout your monthly cycle, cervical mucus changes in texture and consistency, and if you want to get pregnant, then you should follow it very closely.

Your cervical mucus is similar to raw egg whites when you are about to ovulate very soon. This means that you better be timing your intercourse for several days leading up to and including ovulation. In short, cervical mucus helps you determine the days that you should have intercourse, which will increase your chances of conceiving.

Sperm, on the other hand, can live for a span of time, more likely five to seven days. Depending on the sperm’s gender (male or female), it can determine how much days they can live. Female sperms can live longer than male sperms. Nevertheless, this means that if you have intercourse for five to six days before you ovulate, you can still get pregnant as long as the sperm is alive and kicking inside you. You can do that with good quality cervical mucus. Good quality mucus means sperm friendly mucus. So how do you create a good quality cervical mucus?

There are several ways which you can improve your cervical mucus. One is drinking a lot of water. Drinking at least eight glasses a day can create a cervical mucus that is low in acidity. Another one is eating a lot of baby carrots. Carrots have beta carotene or vitamin A, which has been known to improve the amount and quality of your cervical mucus. You can also take plain Robitussin. Robitussin works for your cervical mucus just like the way it works for the other mucus in other parts of your body. This also thins your cervical mucus making it a sperm friendly fluid. Remember however that plain Robitussin should only be taken (not Robitussin DM).

If you do those things, you should have more than adequate cervical fluid, which should keep those sperms alive for days and eventually get to where the egg lies and get you pregnant.

Do sex positions really help you get pregnant?

You may be wondering how sex positions increases your chance of getting pregnant. This has been the topic of many experts actually. It has long been debated whether or not this really helps. Though it is believed to really increase the odds of pregnancy, pregnancy related to sex positions is not really proven.

The though behind this is sex positions who are deep penetrating are likely the positions that will get you pregnant. This is thought because of the body’s anatomy. When a sperm is deposited inside a vagina through unprotected sex, it will travel a certain distance before it reaches the egg. The sperm from the vagina travels through the cervix, then into the uterus, and finally to the fallopian tube where the egg is located. In addition, the sperm can only live for a certain period of time. It can live for about five to seven days, and within this period, it should get in contact with the egg and fertilize it.

The logic behind this is that, the closer the sperm is deposited to the cervix, then the lesser distance the sperm has to travel, which will lead to getting pregnant more quickly. This also means that it can reach the location of the egg in the five to seven days’ period.

The missionary position is believed to be the deepest penetrating sexual position that can help you get pregnant. The rear position is also acceptable. When you use these positions, it can deliver your sperm close to the cervix, and thus, help with pregnancy. Positions such as woman on top and other shallow penetrating positions should be avoided.

To increase the effectiveness of the position, the woman can lie in bed for about 20 minutes and tilting her hips after her partner’s ejaculation. This will facilitate the sperm deposition more effectively. Furthermore, she should avoid douching too much as some substances used for douching can create a hostile environment (vagina) for the sperm, thus, killing them and reducing them in number.

Eating can affect your ability to get pregnant. What you eat as well as how much you eat can have positive effects as well as negative effects. There are food related ways that can help boost your chance in getting pregnant and bear a healthy baby.

Improving your diet three months to a year before you conceive can help you get pregnant. You may choose to shed some weight or gain if you are planning to get pregnant, and planning your diet and improving on it will help you achieve your goal. Following the recommended weight when conceiving is essential as your weight can reduce your chances of conceiving. According to studies, overweight woman as well as underweight’s tends to have a decrease chance of conceiving while women who have a body mass index or BMI or 25 to 20 have higher chances.

Healthy eating means eating a balanced diet and avoiding foods high in fat and sugar, such as cakes, biscuits, and ice creams. These foods make your blood sugar high which can hamper ovulation. Aiming for at least five portions of fruits of vegetables, whether it is fresh, frozen or juiced is recommended. Carbohydrate foods such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes also are good. Instead of eating red meat, eating lean meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and beans is more appropriate. Having portions of dairy foods such as milk, cheese and yogurt, which contain calcium is also advised. Building up of iron in preparation for pregnancy is also important. That is why eating foods rich in iron like pulses, dried fruit, bread, and green vegetables is recommended.

While you can meet almost all your nutritional needs through a balanced diet, an extra help would also do. Many doctors will suggest taking a supplement while trying to conceive. These supplements do you good as they help you make sure that you are supplied everything your body needs. Keep in mind however, that a supplement is not a substitute for a sound diet.

The intake of folic acid is definitely a yes if you are planning to get pregnant. This B vitamin has been linked to a lower incidence of heart attacks, strokes, cancer, and diabetes. It also reduces the risk of a baby having neural tube birth defects such as spina bifida Women who are trying to conceive should take a supplement of 0.4 milligrams (mg) daily. Folic acid should be taken from time to time especially when you stop taking contraceptive pills.
In addition, it’s wise to eat folate-rich foods such as dark green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, nuts, whole grains, brown rice, as well as fortified breads and cereals.

Making adjustments or better yet cutting your alcohol intake is advised if you want to get pregnant. The main risk here is to a developing fetus which can be harmed by heavy drinking. If you have stopped using contraception, there is a chance that you could already be pregnant – it’s better to be safe than sorry and avoid worrying later about how much drinking alcohol early in pregnancy could cause harm to your baby.

Another substance to cut is caffeine. There is no consistent evidence to link caffeinated beverages to fertility problems. However, it has been linked to miscarriage and low birth weight.

There are also other things to avoid. Too much vitamin A could harm your baby that is why you should limit yourself with this. When eating fish, be sure that it contains no mercury or at least has minimal amounts of mercury. High levels of mercury can harm an unborn baby’s developing nervous system.

Consulting a general practitioner is advised as they may also give you the do’s and don’ts in order to have that pregnancy. They are the ones who have more knowledge and the people who really know what is good and what is not. Keeping your appointments with them is important and you should also follow their instructions with regards to food restrictions and many more.

A healthy pregnancy is normal. A healthy woman can usually enjoy a healthy pregnancy. A healthy pregnancy also refers to the health of the developing fetus. there are many things a woman can do and not do to increase the chances for a healthy pregnancy. The first thing a woman should do is think about her health before she conceives a child. Excellent diet, good, regular exercise, minimal stress, abstinence from certain substances like cigarettes, recreational drugs and alcohol, and certain supplements in order to be proactive against various birth defects.

Every woman, and every person in fact should concern themselves with being healthy, but it is of particular importance for a woman considering pregnancy to pay attention to aspects of her health so she can have a healthy pregnancy. Every day, there are new discoveries about birth defect prevention. But it is well established now that sufficient folic acid is important for a healthy pregnancy outcome. There has been evidence that low levels of folic acid can contribute to certain neural tube defects. Folic acid for a healthy pregnancy is something that is proven to be good for women to get enough of, beginning, preferably before conception.

A healthy diet is important for everyone, but it is extra important for a healthy pregnancy. Plenty of the right balance of healthy foods contributes to healthy growth of the baby during pregnancy. It is not necessary for a woman to overeat to achieve a healthy pregnancy. On the contrary, only about 350 additional calories per day of the right foods, along with certain supplements creates the right diet for a healthy pregnancy for most women. Of course, it is essential to check with your health care provider to be sure that you don’t have any special circumstances that require a special diet in order for you to have a healthy pregnancy.

Exercise is also an important aspect to a healthy exercise. If you health care provider gives you the go ahead to continue any regular exercise program you are used to, then, by all means, go ahead and continue. But be careful to get clearance for any new types of exercise during pregnancy from your health care provider before starting one. There are many classes in prenatal yoga which, with proper instruction might be the perfect exercise for you so you can maintain a healthy pregnancy. Prenatal yoga will help condition your mind and body for a healthy birth as well.

Lastly, stay away from certain things while you are pregnant so you can enjoy a healthy pregnancy, birth and baby…smoking, (first or second hand smoke) Smoking will most certainly interfere with a healthy pregnancy. Smoking is known to lead to premature births and low birth weights in babies so we know that smoking is not only unhealthy for mother, but unhealthy for unborn babies as well. Drugs and alcohol are also substances to be avoided if you want a healthy pregnancy. There are many negative side effects to mother and baby when exposed to these substances. And get adequate rest and try to remain as stress free as possible so you can allow your body to experience a healthy pregnancy.

Pregnancy issues can vary from financial to emotional to physical. Some pregnancy issues are limited to the actual pregnancy period itself and some begin before pregnancy and continue long after the pregnancy is over. It is common to experience physical pregnancy issues or symptoms that can be unpleasant. Some of the most common complaints that women face during their pregnancy are excess gas, bloating, heartburn and leakage.

During pregnancy, especially as you approach your due date, you may have discharge of a thin, milky-white consistency. It’s perfectly normal and safe, as long as there is no odor. If there is an odor, it may be an indication of an infection or other medical problem. Or if you experience associated pain, check immediately with your health care provider. Many women find that during pregnancy, they tend to leak urine when coughing or sneezing. This can be an embarrassing pregnancy issue, but it is not uncommon and can be addressed by wearing a pad to absorb any leakage.

Another type of pregnancy issue is if the mother has a medical condition that might require some extra monitoring. Diabetes and Epilepsy are both examples of this type of pregnancy issue. Thankfully, more than 90% of pregnant women with epilepsy give birth to normal, healthy babies. And Diabetes does pose some risk, but when monitored and controlled does not mean that the pregnancy and birth will be adversely affected. There is a higher incidence of giving birth to larger babies who may or may not have a high blood sugar level at birth, but medical intervention results in positive outcomes.

From a different perspective, unplanned pregnancy is an issue of greater consequence. The related pregnancy issues in these cases can include financial stress, single parenting, stress to the mother’s body if it is following a recent birth. Possible lack of emotional support from a partner or family members. Unplanned pregnancies sometimes have no happy outcome, but with time to adjust, an unplanned pregnancy can be a blessing in disguise.

Some other types of pregnancy issues are infertility and miscarriage or loss due to adoption. These pregnancy issues require lots of attention, understanding and support. All three situations can be devastating for everyone involved. Infertility, as a pregnancy issue has some irony as by its nature is lacking the pregnancy.

More and more women and couples are struggling with infertility. There is such heartache involved and the stress of the emotional roller coaster can really test a relationship. The pregnancy issue where a pregnant woman is facing a decision to give her baby to another through the adoption process is a mix of grief and relief.

There will be the issue of separation from the baby after birth which is monumental, but if the decision is made with great forethought and confidence, then perhaps the issue during the pregnancy and after the birth will not be so heart wrenching after all.
