Some male infertility treatment you can undergo

When couples decide to have a baby, a lot of them encounter problems having one due to male infertility.  So what they do is to have the male check his sperm count to see if it does reach the desired number so that the couple can progress to conceive in having a child.  After finding out if their male partners do have a low sperm count, the men seek help from doctors for treatment in correcting this problem.  Most of the time this is not the case since it is not possible to correct the sperm count due to genetic inheritance.

Sometimes, a man has rare cases of hormonal deficiency but these can be treated through medications.   At present, there is still no possible treatment to correct male infertility treatment in terms of sperm count so what doctors do instead is to help the couple be more reproductive through medical ways like artifical insemination or vitro fertilization.

There are also other cases that the man encounters varicocele.  This is an abnormal tortuosity and dilation within the spermatic cord.  When he has this, he can undergo a surgery to treat it and sometimes this helps the male to become fertile.  There were studies made that pregnancy of the woman took place after the surgery.  This then became a finding that through surgery, male infertility treatment can happen.

Another method of male infertility treatment is by eliminating thermic stress and toxic factors.  These include avoidance and engaging of hot baths, exposure to or contact with toxic products like pesticides and thermic stresses. You should avoid and stop taking medications that can decrease fertility such as as imetidine and phenytoin. One should also practice living a healthy lifestyle. It means one must take a proper and balanced diet, free oneself from emotional and physical stress and avoid smoking, drinking alcohol and drug abuse.

Treatment of a systemic disease is another approach of male infertility treatment. One must improve the nutritional status of oneself in cases of malnutrition.  Adequate amount of zinc is important for proper gonadal functions especially in sickle cell anemia, renal insufficiency and cirrhosis. A man should have to undergo sperm analysis if he experienced a febrile illness three months after.

Other men have experienced having just a mild problem with their sperm, in this case it can be treated by taking clomiphene citrate which improves the semen.  When other specific treatments failed these medicines are tried to improve sperm count and mobility. These antiestrogens will act on the estrogen receptors and increases FSH and KH secretion which stimulates the testosterone. Preventive treatments such as vaccination for mumps and tuberculosis has also helped lessen the risk of male infertility.
