My husband Sam and I have been a couple for almost 15 years. He was my boyfriend since high school, and even before, we were picturing ourselves having our own family and living happily. Sam is an engineer and I was an attorney. At the time when Sam had his degree, he asked me to marry him and be the mother of his kids. However, I hesitated because at that time, I was planning to go to law school. My several years at law school were the reason why we were not married around our 20’s. We wanted a bright future for our kids and we needed to be stable in order to provide them with their needs.

I was 32 when we got married and all that we were thinking was having kids. Sam was working as an engineer for a research lab at Maryland and I have my own law firm with several of my law school batch mates. In short, we were really ready to have a family and we don’t have to worry about financial things.

I was diagnosed with PCOS, The doctor said it would be difficult for me to even have a baby.

Sam and I were trying for almost a year and we had no success. We went to a specialist who both checked us for infertility causes . Sam had a normal sperm count and no medical condition for infertility. I was diagnosed with PCOS… It was because of my age and it was existing long enough that I didn’t noticed it before. The doctor said it would be difficult for me to even have a baby, not to mention the risks that I have to go through. I knew Sam was sad and disappointed but he loved me.
