  • Avoid drinking products with caffeine such as coffee and soft drinks. These can lessen sperm count, quality and motility.
  • Next is to maintain a healthy and normal weight. Being overweight or underweight may cause hormonal imbalances and disrupt ovulation and may cause fertility problems. Blood sugar and insulin levels also affect fertility and are controlled by a healthy and normal weight.
  • Exercise to keep your weight but refer to your doctor for the safe exercises when you opt to become pregnant. Swimming, walking and cycling are some of the exercises that can help you get fit before and after pregnancy.

The couple should live a healthy lifestyle. If you decide to have a baby, they should avoid smoking, drinking alcohol and other vices as these affect fertility. You should have enough sleep and should be able to reduce stress.
